1. What is temporary health insurance?
It is a Short Term Medical Insurance policy. You may chose coverage for 30 - 180 days or 30days - 12 months, depending on the plan you select. At the end of the period the coverage ends.
2. Who is eligible?
You and your spouse, up to age 64 and 11months; your unmarried dependent children ages 15 days to 19 (23 if a full time student) who live with you. Also, you must live in a state where the plan is available: not be pregnant nor the expectant father of an unborn child; be a U. S. citizen and not traveling outside the United States. Rules apply if you have been declined health insurance for health reasons: refer to the requirements of each insurance company.
3. What if I have received previous medical treatment, advice or diagnosis for a medical condition?
Pre-existing conditions are generally not covered. Each plan we offer has specific requirements. Please read the PLAN HIGHLIGHTS from each insurance company.
4. What conditions are covered?
Each plan includes specific benefits and exclusions. It is important to read the Plan Highlights when you apply. Also, read the Policy Provisions when you receive your policy. If the coverage does not suit your needs, return the policy during the free-look period and receive a return of premium.
5. How do I apply?
You may apply online now. Or you may print an application and mail or fax to the address on your application.
6. When is my policy effective?
Coverage begins at 12:01 A.M. the day after you complete the application online and submit a premium by debit card or credit card, OR the day after the U.S. Postmark Date Stamp if mailed, OR a future effective date you request on the application.
7. Do I have to wait to find out if I'm approved?
No. If you can answer the questions as required on the application, you will be approved as soon as you complete the enrollment and premium payment process.
8. How do I pay premiums?
You may pay monthly:
1.by check-monthly coupons will be sent to you;
2.by automatic bank draft or credit card.
You may pay for the entire period you selected at a discounted premium.
9. Do I have any coverage after the termination date?
If you had an illness or injury while you were enrolled in your insurance plan, certain expenses will be paid subject to limitations. Read the Policy Conditions of the plan you select.
10. What if I still need short term medical insurance after my policy terminates?
You may apply for a new policy. Any medical condition, illness or accident, under your previous plan is a pre-existing condition and will not be covered under your new policy.
11. What if I want to cancel my policy?
After the free look period, simply stop your premium payments or notify our administrator by email or postal mail.
